Mugur Isarescu
Governor of the National Bank of Romania
Mugur Isarescu has been Governor of the National Bank of Romania since 1990, being one of the top figures of the Romania transition and one of the most respected bankers in Europe. Between 1999 and 2000 he served as Prime Minister of Romania. He is a member of the Romanian Academy, where he has been holding the position of President of the Economic, Law and Social Sciences Section since 2006.
Miguel Arias Canete
European Commissioner for Climate Action & Energy
Born in 1950, Miguel Arias Cañete studied law and worked as a public prosecutor and law professor until 1982. He was a Member of the European Parliament from 1986 to 1999, where he was chair of the Fisheries then Regional Policy Committees. Returning
to Madrid, he was Minister for Agriculture between 2000 and 2004 and again from 2012. He was elected an MEP for the fourth time in May 2014. He holds the position of European Commissioner starting November 1st 2014.


Jerzy Bogdan Plewa
General Director, DG Agriculture & Rural Development
Jerzy Bogdan Plewa was appointed Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development on 16 April 2013. Since 1 January 2012, Mr Plewa, as Deputy Director-General in the same Directorate-General, was responsible for Rural Development and Sustainability Policy. Born in Poland, Jerzy Bogdan Plewa was hitherto Associate Professor at Warsaw Agricultural University, member of the Supervisory Board of the Bank of Food Economy and Adviser to the President of the National Bank of Poland with responsibility for farm-sector analyses.
Vasile Iuga

Vasile Iuga became an international Partner at PwC in 1997 based in Bucharest and was the Country Managing Partner for Romania between 2004 - 2015, with over 600 employees as subordinates in 5 regional offices. He has been a member of the PwC Central and Eastern Europe Management Board (CEE - a region which covers 30 countries, with 300 Partners and over 7,500 employees), being the longest serving member. Vasile is member in various Professional Associations: Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA UK), Romanian Auditor,


Achim Irimescu
Romanian Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development
Achim has a long standing carrer in agricutural affairs. Prior to his current position, he hold various positions in the same ministry: head of service, superior adviser and state secretary. He has occupied several positions in European authorities: minister-adviser, head of Agriculture service of the Romanian permanent mission to the EU, as well as Romania's representative in the Special Committee on Agriculture of the European Council. He was decorated with the National Order "Agricultural Merit", in the rank of Officer, and the National Order "Diplomatic Merit", in the rank of Officer, for his contribution to Romania's EU accession negotiations.
Baron Bernard Snoy
International President of ELEC
Baron Bernard Snoy et d'Oppuers has an outstanding diplomatic and academic career. Besides presiding ELEC, he is Visiting Professor at Catholic University of Louvain, Institute of European Studies. Previously, he has been Coordinator of the Economic and Environmetal Activities for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Executive Director of the Workd Bank and Affiliates, as well as Chief of Cabinet of the Belgian Minister of Finance between 1988 and 1991. He has been a key member of over 12 organisation along his career and received several honorary distictions
